Work work work – a thing of the past

Does your organisation take action on environmental and social issues? It can be a daunting prospect, but research carried out by PwC and Atlassian shows it’s a must have for the next generation if you want to nab the best talent.

Work, work, work is a thing of the past. Interestingly, 69% would turn down a promotion in the name of preserving their mental health.
In the context of the great resignation, talent is in the driver’s seat and they want more than virtue signalling. More than 60% of surveyed workers want their employers to take action on the issues that matter like climate change, equality and poverty.

The big takeout is that employee satisfaction is linked to the actions that are taken by their employers in acting on these social and environmental issues.

Are you looking at how you’re attracting and retaining your best talent? Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) is the new CSR, it’s no longer a tick the box exercise and is the defining issue for our generation.

Instead of tokenistic sponsorship, what more could you do to make society more equitable and our environment more sustainable? It might be time to act to keep and attract the best talent.

More than virtue signalling – action on environmental and social issues is at the top of their list.
